Filipino-American tenor Adam Catangui is a second year master's degree student at Rice University studying under the tutelage of Nova Thomas. His 2024/2025 season kicks off with the tenor solo in the premiere of Patrick Hawes’ The Son of Man with the Houston Chamber Choir and Houston Symphony. This year at Rice he will be seen in a recital entitled Ryan McKinny and Friends and as Count Almaviva in their production of The Ghosts of Versailles. Additional roles include Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Acardio in Florencia en el Amazonas, Miles in Proving Up, and Oronte in Alcina. This past summer, Adam made his debut at the esteemed Verbier Festival in Switzerland as Don Curzio in their production of Le nozze di Figaro. His additional training includes the Gerdine Young Artist Program with Opera Theatre of St. Louis in both 2022 and 2023, and the Chautauqua Opera Conservatory.
